The only way that I can see a long distance relationship working out is if it is only for a short amount of time. If it’s going to be years of being apart there’s a strong chance that it’s not going to work.

If you’ve recently broke up with your partner because of a distance issue but they want to give things another go you should think long and hard about it. Don’t just get back with your ex because you’re scared of moving on because while they’re away you’re practically alone anyway.
